James “Jim” Kliethermes, age 75 of Loose Creek, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Westphalia Hills.
Jim was born August 18, 1943 in Jefferson City, a son to the late Clement and Marie (Oldelehr) Kliethermes.
Jim attended Immaculate Conception School and was a 1961 graduate of Fatima High School.
Jim was a lifelong farmer with several part time jobs. He served in the United States National Guard from 1964 until 1970.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek, Loose Creek Community Club where he served as President, Loose Creek Senior Citizens, and played on several bowling teams at Rainbow Lanes.
Jim enjoyed bowling, woodworking, fishing and hunting, cooking, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Kansas City Chief fan. In his younger years, he loved playing baseball and softball and also enjoyed umpiring baseball and softball games.
Jim is survived by: his five siblings, Marian Kremer and her husband Luke of Loose Creek, Leon Kliethermes and his wife Denise of Taos, Joan Backes and her husband Herb of Loose Creek, Rita Linhardt and her husband Dwight of Loose Creek and Allen Kliethermes of Erie, CO; one sister-in-law, Edna Kliethermes of Linn; 14 nieces and nephews, Diane Muenks, Mark Kremer, Kevin Backes, Julie Boeckman, Lori Wilson, Kim Backes, Richard, Terry, Danny, Matt, Bret, Josh, Scott, and Karen Kliethermes, along with many other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Dave Kliethermes and one nephew, Michael Kremer.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2019, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Merz as the celebrant. Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery.
