Jerry Magers

February 14, 1939 ~ March 30, 2018 (age 79)

Jerry Magers age 79 of Jefferson City and formerly of Linn, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018, at SSM Health St Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.


Jerry was born February 14, 1939, in Parsons, KS, a son to the late Joseph E. and Mina Belle (Farran) Magers.


Jerry was a graduate of the Sweetwater Union High School in San Diego, CA. and served his country as a member of the United States Marines Corps.


Jerry worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service before his retirement.


Jerry was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Linn and enjoyed doing word search puzzles.


Jerry is survived by: two brothers, Melvin Magers and his wife Mary of Cave Creek, AZ. and Mirl Magers and his wife Carol of San Diego, CA; one sister, Phyllis Gleason of Pahrump, NV; three sisters-in-law, Mary Magers of Eugene, Karma Magers of Albuquerque, NM. and Carlene Magers of San Diego as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by: five brothers, Vernon, Donald, Bill, Bob and his twin brother Jim Magers and one sister, Virginia Davidson.


In keeping with Jerry’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no services will be held.
