Robert "Bob" Lee Masters

May 13, 1927 ~ November 6, 2018 (age 91)

Robert “Bob” Lee Masters, age 91 of Linn, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at Jefferson City Manor.

He was born May 13, 1927, in Brunswick, Missouri, a son to the late John Franklin and Mary Josephine (Kahler) Masters.

Bob was united in marriage on September 4, 1948, in Linn to Mary Ann (Brandt) Masters who preceded him in death on July 31, 2007.

Bob proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was employed at Westinghouse and General Motors in Kansas City. When they moved to Linn, he worked at George's Gas Station followed by Algoa Correctional Center until he retired.

He was a member of St. George Catholic Church.

Bob enjoyed farming, spending time with family, gardening, picking up walnuts, and playing cards with friends and neighbors. He enjoyed his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Survivors include his five children: Allan (Judy) Masters, and Lee Ann (Mark) Rustemeyer both of Jefferson City, Norma (George) Boillot of Linn, Laura (Randy) Thoenen of Chamois, and Larry (Rachelle) Masters of Centertown; one brother, Jerry (Karen) Masters of Union; a son-in-law, Norbert Voss of Linn; 17 grandchildren, Corey (Fatiha) Brand, Mindy (David) Sweeten, Norma Marie Merritt, Marty (Heather) Masters, Julie Voss, Jennifer (Tim) Schmid, Christopher (Brittnee) and Andrew Boillot, Lacey (Stephen) Pennington, Adam (Emma) and Robert Rustemeyer, Amy (William) Dunn, Ethan Masters, Nathan (Chelsea), Seth (Ashley), Jared, and Noah Thoenen; and 20 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and spouse of 59 years, he was preceded in death by: one daughter, Lois Voss; five brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. I.C. Medina as the Celebrant.

Interment will be in the St. George Parish Cemetery with full Military Honors.
