Albert Mantle, Sr.

Albert Mantle, Sr., age 74, of Frankenstein, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Albert was born on February 12, 1950, in Linn, a son to the late Clarence Virgil and Mary Lucinda (Mosley) Mantle.

Albert was a 1968 graduate of Linn High School.

On January 24, 1970, he was united in marriage to Rae Jene Peters at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. Rae Jene survives at their home. 

Albert was employed at Capital Supply Co in Jefferson City for fifteen years as a shipping clerk. He then began his career being an over-the-road truck driver. He drove for Mebruer Trucking for thirteen years and he then became a self-employed truck driver for four years. He was employed at Delongs Steel until his retirement in 2015.

Albert was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein, Old Farm Shooters Gun Club, Mint Hill Gun Club, and multiple bass fishing tournaments clubs. He was a former member of the Free Masons. 

Albert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, shooting guns and bows, golfing, an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and being a taxidermist. He participated in numerous gun and fishing tournaments. Alberts faith was important to him, and he prayed every morning with his children. He loved to sing and play his guitar and was known to dance with Rae Jene in the kitchen. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

In addition to his wife of fifty-four years, Albert is survived by his six children, Jeannie (Tony Wansing) Bequette of Wardsville, Albert “Joe” Mantle, Jr. of Frankenstein, Gary (Deanna) Mantle of Loose Creek, Joyce (Richie) Jaegers of Linn, Jennifer (Tim) Strope of Linn, and Mikey (Emmie) Mantle of Jefferson City; seventeen grandchildren, Amber (John) Muehlhausen, Michael Bequette, Kyle (Chelsey) Mantle, Ciara Mantle, Gracee (Logan Scott) Mantle, Garrett Mantle, Graidy Mantle, Cole (Arin Sullivan) Jaegers, Max Jaegers, Sonny Tweedy, Stevyn Tweedy, Taylor Strope, Tricia (Brandon) Keilholz, Torie Strope, Casey Mantle, Mitch Bratten and Beau Bratten; eleven great grandchildren, Ryan, Riylee, Oliver, Jocie, Hallie, Jensen, Gavin, Sam, Melani, Kendra, and Callee; a half-brother and a half-sister; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a infant sister, Virginia Kay Mantle.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Colin Franklin as the Celebrant. Interment will be in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery.
