Allen P. Branson, age 76, of Linn, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Allen was born on March 17, 1950, in Jefferson City, a son to the late Victor and Lois (Herndon) Branson.
He was a 1968 graduate of Linn High School where he played on the baseball and basketball teams.
Allen was employed as an over the road truck driver for Huot Brothers Trucking, Woody Bogler Trucking, and others for many years and worked at Elsevier in Linn until his retirement in 2019.
He was a member of Oklahoma Church of Christ and attended Community Christian Church in Linn.
Allen enjoyed watching sporting events, either local high school sports, or professional like St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs fan. He was very active always walking at the Activity Center. He enjoyed boating on the river, fishing with his best friend David Owens and hunting. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends, sharing a good meal.
Allen is survived by his two brothers, David Branson of Linn and Daniel Branson of Morrison; along with nieces, nephews and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Peggy Branson and Mary Ann Branson, a nephew, Keith Branson and a niece, Heather Branson.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Community Christian Church in Linn with Rev. Ken Harlan officiating. Interment will follow in the Oklahoma Church of Christ Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Oklahoma Church of Christ near Chamois.
