Barbara Ann Steffens

Barbara Ann Steffens, age 77, of Kansas City, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026, at North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.

She was born on July 8, 1948, in St. Louis, a daughter to the late Fred and Velva (Rhoads) Steffens.

Barbara was a 1966 graduate of Linn High School, and she attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.

She was employed at Shook, Hardy and Bacon Law Firm in Kansas City as a Legal Administrative Assistant for 37 years. Barbara was known for her hard work and dedication to her job and the firm.

Barbara was raised by her grandmother and would speak very highly of her and their life on the farm. Many of her fondest memories were gardening, canning, blackberry, gooseberry, strawberry picking and making their own soap. Barbara, as a single woman, was very spontaneous and lived her life to the fullest. She had a bubbly personality and a gift to make people laugh. She was a world traveler and liked going to the gambling boat with her friends.

Barbara is survived by several cousins and many friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Morton Chapel in Linn with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held in Useful Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Useful Cemetery.
