Berniece C. Joyce age 69 of Linn passed away Saturday, July 10, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Berniece was born April 17, 1941, in Linn, a daughter to the late August and Henrietta (Renneke) Deeken.

Berniece graduated from Linn High School in 1959. On October 3, 1964, she was united in marriage to Hadley H. Joyce in Linn. He survives of the home.

Berniece had worked for Linn Manufacturing and in later years, had owned and operated BJ's Kennel along with her husband.

Berniece was a member of St. George Catholic Church and the Pet Breeders Association. She enjoyed crafts, decorating, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Berniece is survived by: one son, Harvey and his wife Eileen Joyce of Eldon; three daughters, Brenda and her husband Todd Becker of Freeburg, Beverly and her husband Doug Struemph of Freeburg, and Amanda and her husband Jay Wolfe of Linn; one brother, Gerald Deeken of Linn; three sisters, Louise Erickson of Linn, Pat Lieneke of Holts Summit, and Marie Lieneke and her husband Marvin of Chamois; eight grandchildren, Nathan and Kara Shepherd, Shelbi and Morgan Becker, Amber and Evan Struemph, and Austin and Tyler Wolfe; two sister-in-laws, Marilyn Deeken and Mary Ruth Deeken, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Berniece was preceded in death by: two brothers, Norbert and Wilbert Deeken; and a brother-in-law, Herbert Lieneke.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. I.C. Medina as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. George Church Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Mint Hill Cemetery or to St George Cemetery.
