Betty Keilholz, age 86 of Frankenstein, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Westphalia Hills.
Betty was born on December 9, 1933, in Frankenstein, a daughter to the late Walter and Annie (Koenigsfeld) Sting.
Betty attended Mt. Pleasant School, St. Mary’s Catholic School in Frankenstein and was a graduate of Chamois High School.
On April 19, 1952, she was united in marriage to Albert G. Keilholz at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2012.
Betty worked for the MFA Store in Chamois from 1970 until it closed in 1983, the Jaegers Store in Frankenstein until it burned in 1984, and then the Frankenstein Store until it closed in 1988. She then went to work for Willibrand's Store until she retired in 2006 completing over 37 years working in local retail stores.
She was a lifelong member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church and a member of St. Ann’s Sodality.
Betty loved her dogs and enjoyed music, playing the accordion, backroad trips, reading, playing cards and working word search puzzles.
Betty is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Frederick and her husband Gerry of Bismarck, North Dakota; four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and spouse of 59 years, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Collins; two sons, Dale and Eric Keilholz; and one grandson, Kevin Collins.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Merz as the Celebrant. Interment will be in Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church or Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery Fund.
