Bobbie Lee Whitney, age 83 of Linn, MO. and formerly of Independence, MO, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, at Linn Living and Rehab Center.
Bobbie was born September 6, 1933, in Paragould, AR, a daughter to the late Mervin and Agnes (Hendrix) Dial.
Bobbie attended school in Paragould and was of the Baptist faith.
On October 24, 1949, she was united in marriage to Vernon Whitney in Paragould. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2004.
Bobbie was a homemaker and enjoyed shopping, collecting dishes and antiquing. She loved having her table set with her formal dishes in case company stopped by.
Bobbie is survived by: two sons, Vernon Dale Whitney and his wife Kathy of Kansas City and Terry Lee Whitney and his wife Glenda of Linn; two sisters, Jeris Coffelt and Jo Ann Walker both of Osawatomie, KS; 3 half-brothers; three half-sisters; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and spouse of 55 years, Bobbie was preceded in death by three brothers.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Osawatomie Cemetery in Osawatomie, KS, with Rev. Ted Hunter officiating.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
