Carrollyn P Sherman

Carrollyn P. Sherman, age 75, of Eugene, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.

 

Carrollyn was born on April 9, 1948, in Richmond, Virginia, a daughter to the late Albert Raymond and Minnie E. (Sandridge) Harris.

 

She was a 1966 graduate of Cortez High School in Phoenix, Arizona.

 

On September 16, 1983, she was united in marriage to Michael Paul Sherman in Fairview, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2021.

 

Carrollyn was a nurse’s assistant working in several nursing homes and provided private duty care to individuals throughout her adult life. Later she was an over the road truck driver with her husband, Michael.

 

She attended the Baptist Church in Pineville, Arkansas and after moving to Missouri, she become involved with the Eugene Christian Church.

 

Carrollyn enjoyed crocheting, traveling, fishing, ceramics, singing and dancing, caring for people, visiting with family and friends, and she loved her little dogs.

 

Carrollyn is survived by her seven children, Randy (Sheila Coffman) Churchill of Glencoe, AR, James Ostrander of Jefferson City, RayAnne (Jeff) Strubberg of Jefferson City, Michael (Lindsey Mash) Sherman of Cabool, Lucinda Sherman of Jefferson City, Charnelle Carrigg of Jefferson City, and Joseph Sherman of Salem, AR; one sister, Patricia Wilson of Danville, VA; 24 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

In addition to her parents and spouse of 37 years, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Shockley; one granddaughter Monica Sherman; two sisters, Bettina Baker and Virginia Norene Proffitt; and one brother, Frederick Harris.

 

Private family services will be held at a later date.

 

Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
