Charles Edward Mathers, 83, of Jefferson City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at General Baptist Nursing Home in Linn.
Charles was born on March 6, 1935, in Peru, Kansas, a son to the late Earl and Reeta (Davis) Mathers.
Charles was a 1954 graduate of Alton High School. He also received his BA in business from Washington University in 1958.
In 1959, Charles was united in marriage to Dorothy (Roemer) Mathers. She preceded him in death on February 7, 2007.
Charles was employed with Aerospace as a contract manager until his retirement.
Charles was a member of First Baptist Church in Jefferson City, where he centered his life around church activities and bible study. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs and watching football and boxing.
Charles is survived by: three sons, Paul (Jennifer) Mathers of Beijing, China, Mark (Brenda) Mathers of Reno, Nevada and Tim (Debbie) Mathers of Glendale, California; one daughter Charity Koehler of Orange, California; and three grandchildren, Allyson, John and Luke Mathers.
A Private Family Service will be held a later date.
