Charles L.D. Sutton, age 90, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

L.D. was born on December 22, 1924, in Holcomb, Mo., a son to the late Calverd Dean and Letha Edith (Bechter) Sutton.

L.D. attended school at Holcomb and later joined the U.S. Navy in 1943 where he served with distinction on the USS Bradford, during WWII. After the war, L.D. Moved to St. Louis to find work. There he met Evelyn Stock at the home of Carl and Ruth Baker. They were married at the Oklahoma Church of Christ on June 28, 1947. L.D. was baptized at the Oklahoma Church of Christ that same year.

L.D. and Evelyn live and worked in the St. Louis area for 34 years. Most of that time L.D. worked for the Wagner Electric Company. After they retired they spent much of their winters in Donna, Teaxs, where they met and made many friend.

In later years, L.D. and Evelyn moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where they enjoyed gardening and the horse races. L.D. suffered from diabetes which led to a disabling "neuropathy". During the last few years, L.D. had a lot of love and support from his nephews, Bob and Don Baker, whom he loved and appreciated very much. L.D. has been nursed and cared for, through these last difficult days, by his loving wife, Evelyn.

We thank God for the opportunity to know and love L.D. and we know that by God's great Grace we will meet again soon.

Charles is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Stock) Sutton, a brother, Calvert Sutton of Athens, AL.; two sisters, Olamae Wright of Ellisville, and Helen Cooper of Popular Bluff; along with several nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Oklahoma Church of Christ near Linn with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held in the Oklahoma Church of Christ Cemetery.
