Clara J. Koenigsfeld, age 95, of Frankenstein, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City.

Clara was born December 12, 1914, in Frankenstein, a daughter to the late Peter and Anna (Haslag) Troesser. She attended school in Frankenstein.

On May 30, 1934, she was united in marriage to Joseph A. Koenigsfeld in Frankenstein, who preceded her in death on June 5, 1979.

Born of this relationship were six daughters and five sons: Ann (Fred) Goeke; Rose Porting Lahr; Sister Viola Koenigsfeld, OSF (deceased); LaVerne (Paul) Lage; Marilyn (Marvin) Herigon; Frances (Harold) Veltrop; Raymond (Marcella) Koenigsfeld; Clarence (Marjorie) Koenigsfeld; George (Sarah) Koenigsfeld; Leon (Eileen) Koenigsfeld; Andrew H. (Mary Pat) Koenigsfeld. She has 40 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She also has 9 step grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren and 10 step great-great grandchildren. Clara is also survived by one sister, Agnes Dudenhoeffer.

In addition to her parents,husband and daughter, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Peter, Joseph and Henry Troesser; and six sisters, Mary, Laura, Anna, and Agatha Dudenhoeffer, Elizabeth Kremer and Regina Wieberg; one granddaughter, Jacinda Koenigsfeld; son-in-laws Fred Porting and Joe Lahr; a grandson-in-law, Elmer Matt Stockman; and two great grandsons, Brody Kempker and Nolan Koenigsfeld.

Clara was a lifelong member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Frankenstein. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality and a member of the Legion of Mary.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Frankenstein. Visitation will also be held Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Frankenstein with Fr. I.C. Medina as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to St. Mary's School in Frankenstein, Hospice Compassus, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
