Connie Brandt

Constance “Connie” Brandt, age 68, of Loose Creek, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, April 3, 2023, at SSM Health St. Mary’s in Jefferson City.

Connie was born on June 30, 1954, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Herbert and Helen (Kliethermes) Kempker.

Connie attended Immaculate Conception School in Loose Creek and was a 1972 graduate of Fatima High School.

On April 14, 1973, she was united in marriage to John L. Brandt, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.  John survives at their home.

Connie was employed at the Missouri Department of Transportation for 42 years until her retirement in March of 2013.

Connie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek and the St. Ann’s Sodality.  Her faith in God was very important to her.

Connie loved to be outdoors, whether it be just enjoying the sunshine, fishing, camping, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, going on float trips, and dunking her grandchildren in the water, or just cutting grass.  When she couldn’t be outside, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, listening to music, dancing (with their group of friends they called the Hot Damn Gang), cooking and canning.  She and John enjoyed trips to Branson and Silver Dollar City.  She was the type of person who would do anything for anyone, she always wanted to help, and be the family caregiver.  Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of almost 50 years, Connie is survived by her four children, Susan (Clarence) Winkelman of Westphalia, Stephanie (Travis) Hoffman of Koeltztown, Lindsey (Brett) Holtmeyer of St. Elizabeth and Johnny (Lacey) Brandt of Westphalia; ten grandchildren, Kendra, Nolan, Ella and Adrian “AJ” Winkelman, Hayden and Issabella Hoffman, Sofia and Gemma Holtmeyer and Henry and Maggey Brandt; one brother Bill (Peggy) Kempker of Chamois; two sisters-in-law, Barb (Elmer) Wibberg of Linn and Becky Monroe of Linn; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by one brother, Tom (Doris) Kempker and one brother-in-law, Chuck Monroe.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek with Fr. James Finder as the Celebrant.  Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery in Loose Creek.
