Curtiss Stapleton, age 48, of Linn, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at his residence.

Curtiss was born on November 20, 1976, in Grapevine, Texas, a son to the late Marvin and Betty (Shaw) Stapleton. His mother survives in the State of Texas.

He was a 1993 graduate of Collinsville High School in Collinsville, Texas and he later earned a bachelor’s degree in Bio Medicals.

Curtiss proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Navy from June 5, 1995, until his retirement on June 30, 2015.

On December 8, 1998, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Lisa Preece in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Lisa survives at their home.

After his retirement from the military, Curtiss moved to Missouri. He was employed as a bio medical technician for the Harry S. Truman Hospital in Columbia until his passing.

Curtiss was a member of the NRA, United Sportsman’s Club in Jefferson City, Camp Valor Outdoor and Shooting for a Cause.

Curtiss enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, reloading shots, camping, going on road trips, and being an animal lover. He always wanted to make you think and learn, you knew where you stood with Curtiss because he was a straight to the point kind a guy. He would do anything to help anyone in need. His greatest enjoyment in life was taking care of and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.

In addition to his mother and wife of 26 years, Curtiss is survived by two sons, Ashley (Jade) Palacios and Harry (Alisha) Stapleton of Rolla; a daughter-in-law, Jillion Brockway of Preston, CT., four granddaughters, Olivia, Keelin, Kinnley, and Naivee; one brother, John (Diana) Stapleton of Tampa, FL.; one sister, Cheryl (Mark) Stapleton-Knele of the State of Texas along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his father, Curtiss was preceded in death by a son, Christian Palacios and a sister, Maggie Stapleton.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Morton Chapel in Linn with a Celebration of Life Service and Military Honors to be held at 5:00 p.m.

In Lieu of Flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Camp Valor Outdoors.
