E. Marlene Laughlin

E. Marlene Laughlin, age 80, of Linn, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017, at her residence.

Marlene was born June 17, 1936, in Osage County, a daughter to the late Guffrie and Alice (Gaume) Baclesse.

Marlene attended Linn High School.

On December 24, 1953, she was united in marriage to Truett Laughlin in Linn. Truett preceded her in death on July 12, 2011.

Marlene was employed at Tweedie Shoe Factory, McGraw Edison and ABB Factory until she retired in 2003.

Marlene enjoyed gardening and planting, being outside helping on the farm. She was an outstanding cook known for her fried chicken and pies.

Marlene is survived by: three sons, Denny, Dave and Ronnie Laughlin all of Linn; two daughters, Joann Dudenhoeffer and her husband Wayne of Frankenstein, and Kathy Muenks of Jefferson City; three grandchildren, Kyle Muenks and his wife Linsay, Brandon Muenks and his wife Christen, and Kara Muenks; one great granddaughter, Moxley Muenks as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents and spouse of 57 years, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a sister, Elda Nichols.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Morton Chapel. Interment will follow in the Mint Hill Shirley Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
