Floyd G. Frank, Jr., age 93, of Linn, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at SSM Health St. Mary’s in Jefferson City, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Floyd was born on July 8, 1930, in Kansas City, a son to the late Floyd G. Frank, Sr. and Mary E. (Schaefer) Frank.

 

Floyd attended grade school in Rich Hill and later earned his GED.   He served his country in the United States Marines.   

 

On October 2, 1954, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Jaegers at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.   Anna Marie preceded him in death on July 14, 2014.

 

Floyd was a lifelong farmer who also worked for Locks Mill Feed store, Kliethermes Construction Company and he later retired from Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City after 32 years of working in the maintenance department.  

 

He was a member of St. George Catholic Church, and member of Linn Knights of Columbus Council #4838.   

 

Floyd enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, woodworking, barbecuing, making homemade wine and playing cards. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.   

 

Floyd is survived by: two sons, Floyd George Frank, III and his wife Wanda of Linn and Jeffrey Frank and his wife Tammy of Linn; four daughters, Carolyn Thies and her husband Laverne of Kewanee, IL., Marilyn Benton and her husband Steve of Linn, Evelyn Frank of Linn and Geralyn Burke of Hannibal; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Frank of Lebanon; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Frederick “Joe” Frank and his wife Betty, Felix “Butch” Frank and his wife Doris, Forrest “Bill” Frank and his wife Sylvia, and Fredolin “Henry” Frank and his wife Carol, all of Rich Fountain; two sisters, Connie Haslag and Marieta Hentges, both of Loose Creek; his special dog, Willow; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

 

In addition to his parents, and spouse of 59 years, Floyd was preceded in death by: a son, Richard Frank; two brothers, Francis “Buck” Frank and his wife Agnes and Ferdinand “Fick” Frank and his wife Connie; and two brothers-in-law, Ben Haslag and Al Hentges.

 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024, Morton Chapel in Linn. 

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. Colin Franklin as the Celebrant.  Interment with Full Military Honors will be in the St. George Parish Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Tunnel to Tower Foundation, (www.t2t.org)
