George Grellner

George Grellner, age 88, of Rich Fountian, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Stonebridge Westphalia Hills.

George was born on May 17, 1938, in Rich Fountain, a son to the late Albert and Mary (Bock) Grellner,

He attended seven years of grade school in Rich Fountain and his eight-grade year at St. Mary’s School in Chamois. He served in the Army Reserves.

On October 24, 1964, he was united in marriage to Bernadette Rudroff at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain. Bernadette survives at their residence.

George was employed at Alex Reinkemeyer Dairy Farm in Rich Fountain. Later in 1961, he started working at the Missouri State Penitentiary in Jefferson City until his retirement on July 1, 2000.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain.

George enjoyed cutting grass, making walking trails in the woods, tinkering and overhauling items, driving his garden tractor, working in his garden and planting flowers. At night he enjoyed watching Fox News. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, George, is survived by his seven children, Phyllis Grellner, James Grellner, Stanley Grellner, Sandra Grellner all of Rich Fountain, Carol (Rick) Meyer of Jefferson City, Marvin Grellner of Marshall, and Sara Grellner of Rich Fountian; 6 step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren; one brother, Fred Grellner of Linn; two sisters-in-law, Helen G. Grellner and Helen Grellner both of Rich Fountain; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by two grandsons, Ryan Beers and Joshua Meyer; two brothers, Ambrose Grellner and Robert Grellner; and a sister-in-law, Veronica Grellner.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William Debo as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
