Gerald "Gary" Brandt

Gerald “Gary” Brandt, 54, of Chamois, died Monday, January 15th, 2024, on his beloved farm.

Gary was born July 15, 1969, in Jefferson City, Missouri to Alphonse and Catherine (Falter) Brandt. Gary was never a man for peace and quiet. He loved to work his heart out on the farm/A & G Small Engines and have a house full of his children and grandchildren when he came home. Gary also enjoyed his two 4 legged best friends, Shiloh and Oreo.

Gary has devoted every day of his life to his career and being an esteemed member of his community. His passion and success was not acquired through formal education, but rather through learning his trade from his father Alphonse and passing it on to his children.

Gary met Bonnie Louise Brandt in October of 1994, and they later wed on June 12, 1998. Together they share 11 children.

Gary was known as a hard-working and honest businessman to his community, but his community and family also knew him as the man who, whether you met him at the business or through a random encounter, always gave you his time like he had forever.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Catherine Brandt, and his siblings, Jim and Carla Brandt.

Gary is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children, John & Krystle Smith; Matt & Chelsea Smith; Sarah Pyatt; Beka & Dustin Stevens; Christopher Brandt & Claire Hemphill; Mikalah & Alex Lauberth; Aaron Brandt; Katie Brandt & Tyler Lopez; Claire Brandt; Tyler Brandt; Dawson Brandt; 12 grandchildren, Connor & Clara Smith; Addisyn, Kynlee, Mylee, Paisley, & Beckham Smith; Payten Pyatt; Lilly, Audrey, Natalie, & Parker Stevens; and the remainder of his siblings, including his best friend, brother, and side kick, Jerry Brandt. A special mention to Jerry’s wife Kathy Brandt for always making sure he was well fed!

Gary will always be the man who was forever living “another day in paradise,” and to him we say… “No, Thank you!”
