Hubert Pete Kmiec

Hubert Pete Kmiec, age 54 of Chamois, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Pete was born May 28, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, a son to the late Max and Ruby (Elder) Kmiec.

Pete was 1978 graduate of a High School in Chicago, Illinois.

On October 3, 1998, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Wright in Linn. She survives of the home.

Pete was employed at St. Mary's Health Center and the Truman Building in Jefferson City and most recently at State Technical College of Missouri in the Activity Center.

Pete always had a "can do" attitude. He was Mr. Fix It when it came to home repairs or working on his automobiles. Pete enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two boys who were the joy of his life. Pete will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his spouse of 15 years, Pete is survived by: two sons, Kasey Peter and Christopher Thomas Kmiec of the home; one brother, Nickey Kmiec and his wife Rhonda of Linn; and four sisters, Bonnie Shoults and her husband Ronnie of Linn, Sue Wells and her husband Sydney of Linn, Ann Meyer and husband Henry of Chamois and Barbara Gregory and her husband Charlie of Hinsdale, Illinois.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Morton Chapel in Linn with the Rev. Floyd Gudde officiating. Interment will follow in Lane Cemetery near Linn.
