Jack A. Ross, age 87 of Springfield, went to sleep and woke up in the presence of Jesus on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Brookhaven Health and Rehabilitation in Springfield.
Jack was born on April 18, 1927, in St. Louis, a son to the late Charles L. Ross and Mildred Marie nee Steinrauf Ross Creek.
Jack attended school in St. Louis and left after the eighth grade to help support his family.
On June 15, 1951, he was united in marriage to Wilma Daniel in St. Louis. She preceded him in death on October 10, 1989.
Jack was employed at Carter Carburetor in St. Louis for many years. After leaving St. Louis, Jack and Wilma moved to Linn, Missouri where they enjoyed the farm life until Wilma passed away. Jack then moved to Springfield, Missouri to be closer to his son.
Jack was a happy and very personable gentleman. All who knew him, loved him.
Jack is survived and lovingly remembered by: one son, James A. Ross and his wife Kathy of Springfield; one brother, Marvin D. Ross and his wife Nancy of Lakeside, CA; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents and spouse of 38 years, Jack was preceded in death by a brother Wayne L. Ross, a sister-in-law, Jayne Ross and his step-father, John Creek.
Private interment was held at the Linn Public Cemetery in Linn.
