Jerome "Jerry" J. Maasen, 86, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Center in Jefferson City.
He was born October 2, 1921 in Linn to the late Joseph G. and Mary (Franken) Maasen.

Jerry was a World War II Army Veteran. He was employed for 36 years in the tire department at Montgomery Ward. He was a member of the St. Louis of France Church in Bonnots Mill, American Legion Post #5 and a member of F.O.E. #2693.

On October 3, 1942 he married Rosella Perriguey in Bonnots Mill. They were married for 65 years. His wife, Rosella survives at the Villa Marie Nursing Center.

Additional survivors include one son, Robert R. Maasen of Bonnots Mill; four daughters; Mary Ruth Backes and her husband Theon of Wilmington, NC, Catherine Wolters and her husband Don of Jefferson City, Helen Kliethermes and her husband Steve of St. Martins and Rosemary Mantle of Nixa, one brother, Ray Maasen of Westphalia and two sisters, Delores Ball of Hannibal and Virginia Potterbaum of Mexico, Missouri, 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Haslag and one brother Wilber Maasen.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the St. Louis of France Church in Bonnots Mill.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. at the Church with Father Charles Pardee, Father George Kramer and Deacon Steve Kliethermes officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Louis Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Louis of France Parish in Bonnots Mill or to the St. Martins School Expansion Fund.
