Joe A. Smith

Joe A. Smith, age 75 of Roach formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Lake Regional Health Systems in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Joe was born May 18, 1939, in Cowgill, Missouri, a son to the late Robert Johnson and Ruby Ruth (Fields) Smith.

Joe served in the United States Army.

On February 20, 1968, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Brown who survives at their home.

Joe work for Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri, for 42 years before retiring to the Lake of the Ozarks.

In addition to his wife of 47 years, Joe is survived by: two sons, Robert Joseph Smith of Linn and Jeffrey Charles Smith and Gail Cocco of Independence; a sister, Genevia "Genny" Link and her husband Jack of Lenexa, KS.; two grandchildren, Kristian Elizabeth Smith of Roach and Katelynn Marie Smith of Lake Ozark, a niece, six nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Morton Chapel in Linn with a Memorial Service and Full Military Honors to follow at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri in care of Morton Chapel P.O. Box 77 Linn, Mo. 65051.
