John Henry Joseph Kirsch, age 62, of Jefferson City, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on September 15, 1962, in Jefferson City, a son to the late William “Bill” and Clara (Dudenhoeffer) Kirsch.
He was a 1980 graduate of Linn High School.
On June 22, 2002, he was united in marriage to Vickie at Our Lady of Help Catholic Church in Frankenstein. Vickie survives at their home.
John was taught by his father, from an early age, to have a great work ethic. He was employed by Bill Thoenen and worked, alongside his father, building homes. John later went to work for Unilever in Jefferson City for 28 years until he retired in 2009 due to his health declining.
John enjoyed fishing, playing cards, woodworking, spending time working on his and Vickie’s lawn and flower gardens. He was a history buff who also had a great dry sense of humor. John loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to his wife, of 22 years, John is survived by five step children (who he was was close to), Jimmy (Dawn), Cole (Raechel), Heath (Sarah), Natasha (Carlos) and Brittney (Josh); several step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; three brothers, David (Barb) Kirsch, Dan (Edith) Kirsch, Joseph (Kaye) Kirsch; four sisters, Geri (Jerry) Ivy, Rose (Larry) Orscheln, Robin (Joe) Peters and Mary Jane (Rick) Stephenson, a brother-in-law, Andrew Rustemeyer, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Rustemeyer.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Morton Chapel in Linn with Funeral Services to follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be held in Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City.
