John Joseph Neuner, age 77 of Linn, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
John was born September 4, 1945, in Jefferson City, a son to the late Joseph and Lorene (Branson) Neuner.
John was a 1963 graduate of Linn High School.
On September 4, 1965, he was united in marriage to Karen Branson at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. She survives at their home.
John worked as a crane operator for ABB until his retirement in 2009. He then began driving for Rudroff Bus Company until March of this year when his health forced him to retire.
He was member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
John was a permanent fixture on the front row anytime his grandchildren were participating in a sporting or school event.
In addition to his spouse of 57 years, John is survived by three sons, Joseph Anthony Neuner and his wife Lisa of Loose Creek, Michael James Neuner and his wife Debbie of Linn, and Scott Christopher Neuner and his companion Crystal Lanphier of Mexico, Missouri; two sisters, Marsha Nagel of Jefferson City and Ruth Neuner Elledge of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Cole (Lindsey) Neuner, Samuel Neuner, Sydney Neuner and Evelyn “Evie” Lanphier; four great grandchildren, Madelyn Neuner, Logan Huckabee, Addison Clark, and Autumn Clark; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Herbert, Harry and James Neuner and two sisters, Theresa Thomas and Dorothy Weislocher.
Private family services will be held, and inurnment will be in the St. George Parish Cemetery in Linn.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the St. George Parish Cemetery.
