Obituary

Kenneth Rhey Schreiman, age 89, of Linn, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, surrounded by his loving family.

Kenneth was born on May 26, 1937, in Linn, a son to the late Stanley and Esther (Carwile) Schreiman.

He was a 1956 graduate of Linn High School, where he played on the basketball and baseball teams. He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

On September 6, 1958, he was united in marriage to Betty A. Ruettgers at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek. Betty preceded him in death on March 27, 2015.

Kenneth was employed at Missouri Department of Transportation for 36 years, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn, the American Legion and was a charter member of the Osage Country Club.

Kenneth was an avid golfer who also enjoyed playing fast pitch softball and baseball as well as coaching multiple youth events. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. He enjoyed fishing. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He had a larger-than-life personality and a great since of humor.

Kenneth is survived by one son, Doug Schreiman and his wife Cheryl of Linn, three grandchildren, Heather Senevey and her husband Anthony of Linn, Steven Schreiman of Linn and Lucas Schreiman and his fiancée, Kellie Tamayo-Blanco of Linn; two great grandchildren, Taytum and Josie Senevey with one on the way; three sisters-in-law, Mary Ruettgers of Loose Creek, Marilyn Kelsey of Liberty, and Kathy (Ralph) Dudenhoeffer of Linn; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife of 56 years, Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, Donald (Gerrie) Schreimann; two sisters, Raejeane (Lee) Norris and Marie (Leo) Swaim; two brothers-in-law, Dick Ruettgers and Louis Kelsey; and a sister-in-law, Gerri (Joe) Kresl.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Rev. Colin Franklin as the Celebrant. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held in St. George Parish Cemetery in Linn.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
