Kevin Horton, 63, of Center, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Westview Nursing Home, surrounded by the compassionate care of those who had become like family to him.
Born on January 7, 1962, in Missouri, Kevin was the beloved son of Frederick and Sheila (Wyatt) Horton. From the very beginning, Kevin brought light and laughter into the lives of those around him. He had a gift for making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved — he truly never met a stranger. His heart was open to everyone, and his kindness left a lasting impression wherever he went.
Kevin had a special bond with the staff at Westview Nursing Home, who cared for him with love and affection. One of his greatest joys was Facetiming with his niece, Sherna, lighting up with every call and cherishing each shared moment. He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures — music that stirred his soul, the excitement of Bingo afternoons, the quiet reflection of Bible Study, and the classic comfort of his favorite Westerns.
In his younger years, Kevin was the life of the party. He loved to dance, laugh, and be surrounded by people. His energy was contagious, and his presence could brighten even the dullest room. His joyful spirit and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Kevin is survived by his loving siblings, Judith, Charles and Donnie and his dear niece, Sherna Horton, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He now joins in peace with his parents, Frederick and Sheila.
Though he may no longer be with us in person, Kevin’s memory lives on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know and love him. His warmth, laughter, and love will never be forgotten.
Kevin was laid to rest in Linn Public Cemetery.
