Lawrence "Larry" Eugene Kendrick, age 60, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 at his residence in Linn.

He was born in Hazzard, Mo. on November 15, 1948 one of seven children to Kenneth and M. Helen (Long) Kendrick.

On June 27, 1970 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Indian Creek, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Sue Maher who survives at the home.

Larry graduated in 1966 from Holy Rosary High School in Monroe City, Mo. From 1968 to 1970 he served in the U.S. Army.

He entered Linn State Technical College in 1970 studying auto mechanics. Following graduation he became an auto mechanics instructor at Linn State where he worked for the next 37 years.

Larry was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn and was active in the parish's mens organization.

He enjoyed spending time fishing with his family at Mark Twain Lake. Larry was known for his mechanical skills and he could often be found tinkering with lawn mowers and other small engines. He enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Missouri basketball.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by: his father Kenneth who resides in Monroe City; one son; Eric Kendrick and Karla Bagsby of Maryland Heights; two daughters, Nicole and Jason Jenkins of Holts Summit and Carla and Travis Ousley of Brazito; two brothers, J. Robert and Barbara Kendrick of Monroe City and James Kendrick of Hannibal; four sisters; Mary Isabelle and Robert Pipkin of Hannibal, Patti Green of Hannibal, Debbie Kendrick of Monroe City and Regina Boyer of Palmyra; three grandchildren; Taylor and Cole Ousley and Aiden Jenkins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen and his father-in-law Joseph Maher.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009 at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at St. George Catholic Church with Fr. I.C. Medina as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. George Catholic Cemetery.
