Leona M. Lansford

Leona M. Lansford, age 88 of Linn, Mo. passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.

She was born on October 26, 1920 in Loose Creek a daughter to the late Jacob and Anna (Schmitz) Scheulen.

On November 4, 1950 Leona was united in marriage to Troy Lansford in Linn. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1999.

Leona was a life-long resident of Linn. She was a plant manager at L&B Manufacturing in Iberia, Mo. for 24 years. She retired in 1986.

She was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn. Leona enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family.

Leona is survived by: one brother, Harry and his wife Marie Scheulen of Rich Fountain, three sisters; Irene Defelice of Culver City, CA, Betty Allen of Baldwin, CA and Loretta and her husband Joseph Fick of Linn, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Bill, Andrew, Ray, Jacob and Fred and one sister, Odillia "Toots" Redel.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2009 at St. George Catholic Church with Fr. I.C. Medina as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. George Church Cemetery.
