Lester George Filer, age 82 of Bland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at his residence.
Lester was born on August 19, 1931, in Sterling, Colorado the son of the late George Calvin and Lea Lillian (Waldman) Filer.
Lester was a 1951 graduate of Linn High School.
Lester served in the United States Coast Guard.
Lester was a man that didn't love to trade, he lived to trade. If there was anything that someone needed Les could find it. When asked by his family and friends how he was feeling, he replied "Always Better". He was a friend to everyone he met. He loved spending time with his family and friends especially his dog Sadie. Lester will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Lester was united in marriage in 1954 to Irma Jean (Malan) Filer, and to this union was born three daughters, Carol Lea Kmucha, Debbie Jean Filer and Marcia Dawn Sohn; three grandchildren, Jessica, Emily and Jeremy.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Interment will follow in the Perrey-St. Isidore Cemetery near Linn.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Perrey-St. Isidore Cemetery.
