Linda Sue Brandt, age 75, of Linn, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023.

 

Linda was born on September 28, 1947, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Thomas and Mildred (Shouse) Cavender.

 

Linda attended Linn High School.  She was employed at Mosby for 40 years, retiring in June of 2018.

 

Linda was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn and St. Ann’s Sodality.

 

Linda enjoyed sewing, traveling, bowling, shopping, buying t-shirts to remember her travels, baking, cooking, watching cartoons, and working in her flower and vegetable gardens.  She was always on the lookout for a great deal by going to auctions and antique stores. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

 

Linda is survived by one son, Patrick Brandt and his wife Diane of Linn; two daughters, Carolyn Rackers and her husband Michael of Linn, and Marsha Smith and her husband James of Columbia; six grandchildren, Claudia and Peter Brandt, Kenny Stieferman, Carl Broman, and Jamie and Jewel Smith; two great grandchildren, Aiva Reese and Cassidy Nenninger; three brothers, Allen Cavender and his wife Carole of Linn, George Cavender of Warsaw and John Cavender of Linn; one sister, Kay Kinney and her husband Greg of Vancover, Washington; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her seven siblings, Dudley Harold Cavender, Nelson Cavender, James Cavender, Frances Burris, Nellie Haslag, Betty Renn, and Ted Cavender and the father of her children, Don B. Brandt.

 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Morton Chapel in Linn

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. Colin Franklin as the Celebrant.  Private family interment will be held at St. George Parish Cemetery in Linn.

 

Expressions of sympathy may be made to American Diabetes Association.
