Lois Joyce Bishop

Lois J. Bishop, age 60 of Linn, passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 at her residence.

She was born January 4, 1949 in St Louis, a daughter to the late Benjamin J. and Dorothy M. (Trapp) Mueller.

Lois graduated from Corpus Christi Catholic School in Jennings, MO.

On May 10, 1969 she was united in marriage to Melvin L. Bishop in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on September 3, 1989.

She was employed at Elsevier in Linn.

Lois enjoyed spending time with her family and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Community Christian Church in Linn and enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School. Lois was also an active participant in the Relay for Life.

Survivors include one son; Jason Bishop of Linn; three daughters; Angie Cole and her husband Greg, Stephanie Bishop and Jennifer Bishop all of Linn; three brothers; Bernard "Sonny" Mueller of Hillsboro, James Mueller of Fenton and Thomas Mueller of Hillsboro; four sisters, Marie Putman of Idaho Fall, ID, Jane Stockwell of Wentzville, Jean Klinkhamer of Lakewood, CO and Ann Mueller of Deltona, FL; seven grandchildren, Levi Maxey, Stephan Gotthardt, Tanner Gotthardt, Andrew Cole, Mazie Bishop, Reghan Cole and Claire Bishop as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Mueller.

Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2009, at the Community Christian Church on Hwy 50 East in Linn.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Community Christian Church with Rev. Dan Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in the Lane Cemetery.
