Loretta M. Pope age 72 of Florissant, Mo passed away Friday, April 23, 2010, at the Progress West Healthcare Center in O'Fallon, Mo.

Loretta was born September 25, 1937, in Bonnots Mill, a daughter to the late Robert Paul Finley and Mary Bell (Mantle) Vaughan. Loretta eventually was raised by a very special uncle and aunt, Lester and LaVern Mantle, who also preceded her in death.

Loretta lived in Linn until 1952 when she moved to St Louis. On May 26, 1960, she was united in marriage to Richard A. Pope in Clayton, Mo. He survives of the home.

Loretta enjoyed her home and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a restaurant manager for the family owned Pope's Cafeteria in St Louis.

In addition to her husband, Loretta is survived by: two sons Richard "Rick" Pope, Jr. of the state of Massachusetts, Harry and his wife Shawn Pope III of the state of Florida; two daughters, Deborah and her husband Kenneth McKay of St. Peters and Abbi and her husband John Piper of Florissant; three brothers, Robert "Butch" and his wife Mary Mantle of Springfield, Bernice and his wife Carolyn Vaughan of Linn, Earl and his wife Drew Vaughan of Branson; two sisters, Sharon and her husband Dennis Howard of Lake St. Louis, Jean and her husband John Barteau of Camdenton; nine grandchildren, Bobby, Scotty, Tommy, Joy, Christopher, Caitlyn, Chandler, Jason and Katie as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Morton Chapel in Linn. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Vosholl Church Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri.
