Louise Dorothy Fick, age 97 of Rich Fountain, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at her son’s residence surrounded by her family.
Louise was born January 8, 1924, in Rich Fountain, a daughter to the late Henry and Sibylla (Reinkemeyer) Krieg.
Louise attended Sacred Heart School.
On June 7, 1945, she was united in marriage to Arthur John Fick at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1977.
In addition to being a homemaker, Louise worked as a cook and teacher’s aide at Sacred Heart School from 1983 until 2005.
Louise was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Ladies Sodality and the Sewing Circle.
She enjoyed cooking, putting puzzles together, and spending time with her family.
Arthur and Louise were blessed with six sons, Dennis (Virginia) Fick of Rich Fountain, Greg (Bert) Fick of Rich Fountain, Charles (Therese, deceased) Fick of Westphalia, Stan (Sue) Fick of Rich Fountain, Ralph (Linda) Fick of Rich Fountain and Howard (Tanya) Fick of Rich Fountain; four daughters, Marilyn (Ron) Markway of Urbandale, IA, Annette (Steve) Poettgen of Freeburg, Jane (Steve) Knaebel of Taos and Julie (Steve) Siegler of Rich Fountain; 34 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and spouse of 32 years, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clem Krieg and two sisters, Marie Boes and SR. Eleanor Krieg, FSM, and a daughter-in-law, Therese Fick.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain with Fr. William Debo, Fr. James Finder, and Fr. John Groner as Concelebrants. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
