Madonna Katherine Otte, age 81 of Carthage formerly of Morrison, passed away Friday, November 18, 2022, at St. Luke’s Care Center in Carthage.
Madonna was born April 4, 1941, in Fredericktown, a daughter to the late Sterling Roney and Hazel (Revelle) Cox.
Madonna attended school in Patton, Missouri.
On August 21, 1976, she was united in marriage to Ronald Carl Otte in Glendale, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2004.
Madonna worked at Elsevier in Linn for 10 years before retiring.
She was member of Zion St. Peters United Church of Christ in Pershing and the Hope Valley Quilting Club.
Madonna enjoyed making quilts for family and friends.
Madonna is survived by: two sons, Rob (Debbie) Walker of Diamond, MO and Jeffrey Scott (Victoria) Walker of O’Fallon, MO; one daughter, Kathy (Earl) Hopkins of Neosho; one stepdaughter, Debra Orban of Godfrey, IL; one brother, Wayne Cox of Ironton, MO; two sisters, Margie (Everett) Sullins of Farmington and Hilda Zarek of Farmington; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and spouse of 28 years. she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Gail Mersinger; her brother, Wilbur Cox; and two sisters, Glenda Metz and Goldie Parsons.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to Noon on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral Services will follow with Rev. Barb Zastrow officiating. Interment will be in the Fredericksburg Cemetery.
