Margie Rice

Margie Rice, age 86, of Jefferson City, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Heisinger Bluff in Jefferson City.


Margie was born on March 1, 1937, in Linn, a daughter to the late Gus and Mattie (Wilson) Mantle.


On March 2, 1954, she was united in marriage to Carl Rice in Linn.  Carl survives at their home in Jefferson City.


Margie was the office manager for Dr. Kerns Dental office for over 30 years, retiring on August 12, 1996.


Margie was a member of Capital City Christian Church in Jefferson City.  


Margie enjoyed playing golf and doing ceramics.   She was a very social person who loved to visit everyone.  Her greatest enjoyment was traveling and taking family vacations.  Margie and Carl were snowbirds after they retired, who spent half the year in Missouri and the other half in Florida.   


In addition to her husband of 69 years, Margie is survived by her children, Lou Ann “Daisy” Isenberg and her husband Larry of Jefferson City, Linda Adkison and her husband Terry of Russellville, David Rice and his wife Shirley of Brazito, and Lisa Bartow and her husband Sam of Lohman; five grandchildren, Annie Isenberg, Heidi Thorne, Carly Isenberg, Haley Ponder, and Cale Bartow; four great grandchildren, Gracyn Caplinger, Conner and Tyler Thorne, and Sylvie Ponder, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.


In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Mantle and a sister, Louise Bonnot.


Private Family Service will be held.  Inurnment will be held in the Linn Public Cemetery.   


In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Miller County Group Home in Osage Beach.
