Marie Morfeld, age 92, of Linn, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City surrounded by her loving family.
Marie was born on October 24, 1933, in Rich Fountain, a daughter to the late Lewis and Josephine (Berhorst) Klebba.
She attended Mt. Aerial School until it closed and then attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Rich Fountain.
On November 29, 1952, she was united in marriage to Stephen G. Morfeld, Sr. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg. Stephen preceded her in death on August 16, 2008.
She was employed at several local factories and stores in the Linn area.
Marie was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn, the St. Ann’s Sodality, Quilting Club and Linn VFW Post 4756 Ladies Auxiliary.
Marie enjoyed quilting, doing crossword puzzles, cooking, baking, dancing, gardening, and playing solitaire on her computer. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, by making sure they went home with a bag of cookies.
Marie is survived by her son, Stephen Morfeld Jr. and his wife Carol of Linn; three grandchildren, Amy (Sam) Niederhelm of Linn, Eric Morfeld of Linn and Katie (Kurt) Kuschel of Linn; eleven great grandchildren, Daulton and his wife Megan, Peyten, Keaton, and Kendall Niederhelm and Alex, Annabel and Emily Morfeld and William, Olivia, Gus and Paul Kuschel; two great great grandchildren, EmmyLou and WrenLee Niederhelm; one sister, Lillian Cassmeyer of Folk; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband of 55 years, Marie was preceded in death by three brothers, Louis “Jr.” Klebba, Eugene “Bert” Klebba and Harold “Bud” Klebba; and two sisters, Janet Nichols and Agnes L. Voss.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Rev. Anthony Rinaldo as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. George Parish Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. George Catholic Church or School.
