Marie Theresa (Holtschneider) Scheulen, age 91, of Rich Fountain, passed away May 7, 2018, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Marie was born August 31, 1926, in Rich Fountain, a daughter to the late George C. and Anna (Fick) Holtschneider.
Marie was a 1944 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Westphalia.
On November 8, 1947, in Rich Fountain, she was united in marriage to Harold “Harry” A. Scheulen. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2016.
Marie was a teacher, homemaker, gave music lessons, and was a substitute teacher and teacher’s aide at Sacred Heart School.
Marie was a member of St. Ann’s Ladies Sodality and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain where she played the organ for 30 plus years.
Marie enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, visiting over coffee, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include: two sons, Gary Scheulen of Freeburg and Paul Scheulen and his wife Sue of Rich Fountain; four daughters, Kathleen “Kathy” Rudroff and her husband Ron of Jefferson City, Margaret “Maggie” Vieth and her husband Butch of Rich Fountain, Lisa Summers and her husband Matthew of Paducah, KY and Carla Lehmen and her husband John of Rich Fountain; 11 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and spouse of 69 years, she was preceded in death by: four brothers, John, Ben, Hubert and Adolph Holtschneider; one sister, Dorothy Rohrer and two grandchildren, Tonya Anna Vieth and Jon Paul Scheulen.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain with Fr. William Debo as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
