Marilyn Jean Starke, age 73, of Linn, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
Marilyn was born on August 31, 1952, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Norbert Hubert and Mary Ellen (Rustemeyer) Brandt.
She was a 1971 graduate of Linn High School and a 2003 graduate of Lincoln University in Jefferson City with a degree in Business Administration.
Marilyn was employed for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. She retired to take care of her parents. She later went to work for the Linn License office for a couple of years.
She was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn.
Marilyn enjoyed doing anything for her grandchildren, like watching their ball games or just taking them places. She also liked gardening, canning, spending time on the family farm, cooking, or going on cousin trips. She would do anything to help someone in need; she always put others before herself. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends.
Marilyn is survived by her two sons, Eric Starke and Brad (Melissa) Starke both of Bonnots Mill; her pride and joy four grandchildren, Jacob, Katlyn, Aaron and Emma Starke all of Bonnots Mill; one brother, Marvin Brandt of Bonnots Mill; her life partner, Rodney Brinkman of Linn; along with several cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Morton Chapel in Linn.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Rev. Colin P. Franklin as the Celebrant. Interment will be held in St. George Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. George Catholic Church.
