Mary F. Stiefermann, age 84 of Frankenstein, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Capitol Region Medical Center in Jefferson City surrounded by her loving family.

 

Mary was born November 1, 1939, in Kansas City, a daughter to the late Joseph and Frances (Dickneite) Radmacher.

 

Mary attended Holy Family Catholic School in Freeburg and was a 1957 graduate of Fatima High School.

 

On October 13, 1962, she was united in marriage to Charles A. Stiefermann at Holy Family Catholic Church in Freeburg.  He survives at their home.

 

Mary was employed at the Missouri State Personnel Division until Michael was born. After raising her family, she worked part-time in various banking and accounting positions.

 

Mary was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality, the Quilting Ladies, and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She impacted the lives of many youths while volunteering many hours with 4H and CYO.  She also volunteered at the Good Shepherd Food Pantry, Red Cross blood drives, and worked the election polls.  

 

She enjoyed quilting, cooking, card games, going to the gambling boat and was very competitive in playing Words with Friends.  She also enjoyed picking gooseberries and was famous for her gooseberry pies and jelly and molasses cookies.  Family was very important to Mary and she always put others before herself.      

 

In addition to her spouse of 61 years, Mary is survived by: two sons, Michael Stiefermann and his wife Janet of Bonnots Mill and Thomas Stiefermann of  Frankenstein; three daughters, Karla Bier and her husband Greg of Columbia, Kathleen Kloeppel and her husband Glen of Westphalia, and Anne Imhoff and her husband Cory of Leawood, KS; one brother, Jim Radmacher and his wife Ruby of Taos; three sisters, Ruth Hasenbeck and her husband Larry of Jefferson City, Sharon Norton and her husband A.T. of Marietta, GA, and Phyllis Graham and her husband Terry of Eugene; thirteen grandchildren, Sam (Courtney) Stiefermann, Ashley (Neal) Dudenhoeffer, Matt (Amber) Stiefermann, Brandon (Lauren) Bier, Kirstin (John) Binz, Bridget (Tyler) Percy, Hannah, Grace, Tyler and Zach Kloeppel, and Allyson, Ryan and Chloe Imhoff; six great grandchildren, Noah, Brayden, Eoin, Natalie, Jack, and Charlie; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a son, John Stiefermann and one sister, Lois Jean Radmacher.

 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein.

 

Mass of Christian Burial being held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Frankenstein with Fr. Colin Franklin and Fr. Mark Porterfield as the Celebrants.  Interment will be in the Garden of Gethsemane Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Mary’s School.
