Matthew L. Smith

Matthew L. Smith, age 41, of Linn, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024.

Matt was born on January 15, 1983, in Jefferson City, a son to the late Stephen “Snuffy” Smith and Bonnie (Sallin) Brandt, who survives in Chamois.

Matt was a 2001 graduate of Linn High School.

On May 31, 2008, Matt was united in marriage to Chelsea McCuskey at St. George Catholic Church in Linn. Chelsea survives at their home.

Matt was employed as a carpenter for local business. He later went to work at Thermocore of Missouri from February 2003 until February of 2014. Then he went to work for Riley Toyota and later was the finance manager at Rusty Drewing Toyota in Jefferson City, until his passing.

Matt had a nitch for sales. He turned his carpenter job at Thermocore into a sales position by the time he left. Matt always said that anything was for sale for the right price.

Matt was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn.

Matt enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, bowling and watching/coaching his kids play sports. He was a perfectionist, who enjoyed mowing the grass and getting his stripes just right. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and also enjoyed watching all NBA games. He put 110% into everything he did and mastered it quickly, anything from picking up volleyball for the first time to any job he ever did. He always made time for people no matter what he was doing. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his children, family, friends and going to family gatherings.
