Michael Robert Peters

Michael Robert Peters, age 67, of Jefferson City, formerly of Chamois, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at StoneBridge - Adams Street in Jefferson City.

Mike was born December 6, 1954, in Fort Leonard Wood, a son to the late Robert and Gertrude (Strope) Peters.

He was a 1973 graduate of Linn High School.

On June 2, 2001, he was united in marriage to Janice Ann Bauer at St. George Catholic Church in Linn.  She preceded him in death on November 11, 2020.

Mike was a school bus driver for the R-III school district.  He enjoyed driving the school bus and the many students he transported.  Frequently he would surprise these students with treats such as candy or soda.

He was a member of St. George Catholic Church in Linn.

Mike enjoyed mushroom hunting as well as wild turkey and deer hunting.

Mike is survived by nine siblings, Linda Oligschlaeger and her husband Mark of Jefferson City, James Peters and his wife Linda of Linn, Russell Peters and his wife Debbie of Linn, Kenny Peters and his wife Judy of Linn, Mary Kramer of Rich Fountain, Andrew Peters and his wife Sally of Linn, Jessica Farley and her husband Scott of Taos, Christopher Peters of Linn, and Jeremy Peters and his wife April of Lohman; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at St. George Catholic Church in Linn with Fr. Colin Franklin as the Celebrant.  Interment will be in the St. George Parish Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or Goldschmidt Cancer Center.
