Ray ""Babe"" Thomas Jr., 82 formerly of Linn, MO died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at the Windsor Health Care Center in Windsor, Co.

Ray was born September 11, 1925 in Bonnots Mill, Missouri to the late Ray Alexander and Eliza Mae (Mantle) Thomas. He was raised in Linn and attended Linn High School. Ray enlisted in the United State Army and served from November 1943 to November 1946 with the 75th Division. He fought in WWII and was wounded in "The Battle of the Bulge". He received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

On January 25, 1948, he married Eveline Helmig in Jefferson City. She survives in Greeley, Colorado. Ray was the owner of Thomas Lawn Care Service. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Jefferson City, the DAV in Greeley, Colorado and the VFW in Linn. His favorite hobbies were hunting, fishing and traveling back to Missouri to be with family.

In addition to his wife Eveline, Ray is survived by one son; Terry W. Thomas of Greeley, Colorado, one sister Dixie Thomas of the state of Missouri, four brothers: Harry Thomas, Robert Thomas, Jerry Thomas and John Thomas all of the state of Missouri, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn and Georgia and two brothers, Lawrence and Omar.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 4, 2008 at Morton Chapel in Linn, MO.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Morton Chapel, Linn, Mo. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Lane Cemetery.
