Richard ""Rich"" Melvin Joseph Schollmeyer, age 63 of Rich Fountain, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at his residence.

Rich was born April 28, 1949 in Chamois, the son of Melvin and Alvena (Smith) Schollmeyer. Both preceded him in death.

He was married on July 12, 1969 in Chamois, to Brenda Kay Oidtmann. She survives of the home.

Rich was a lifelong area resident. He was a certified ASE Master Mechanic and taught Auto Mechanics at Chamois High School. He also worked as an over the road truck driver.

Rich was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain, the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Chamois and Morrison Jaycees branch, and a member of the Moonshiners Street Rod Club.

Survivers include his wife Brenda; one son, Jared L. Schollmeyer; one daughter, Kirstie and her husband Matt of Rich Fountain; one brother Frank and his wife Shirley Schollmeyer of Centertown; and six grandchildren, Jonathan and June Schollmeyer and Danielle, Haidyn, Emma, and Leo Buscher.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Schollmeyer.

Friends will be recieved from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain with Fr. Philip Niekamp as the celebrant.

Interment will follow at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Cemtery in Chamois with Fr. David Means officiating.

Expressions of Sympathy may be made to the Charity of donor's choice.
