Rita Ann Muenks

Rita Ann Muenks, age 68, of Loose Creek, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026, at SSM Health St. Mary’s in Jefferson City.

Rita was born on June 16, 1957, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Francis and Catherine “Tootsie” (Schaefer) Kever.

She was a 1975 graduate of Fatima High School.

Rita was employed at Chesebrough Ponds and later went to work for Missouri Employment Security until her retirement in August 2006.

On June 28, 1975, she was united in marriage to Larry Muenks at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek. Larry survives at their home.

Rita was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek, where she served on the parish council, picnic committee, and the school board.

She enjoyed ceramics, puzzles, bowling, traveling, camping, boating, and fishing. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and friends.

In addition to her spouse of fifty years, Rita is survived by two daughters, Sheila (Brad) Ocheskey of Bonnots Mill and Michelle (Brian) Starke of Linn; four grandchildren, Karlee and Brenna Ocheskey and Gunner and Granger Starke; three brothers, Robert (Linda) Kever of Belle, John (Cindy) Kever of Bonnots Mill and Carl Kever of Jefferson City; two sisters, Jean (Ralph) Glavin of Frankenstein and Mary Kever of Jefferson City; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek with Fr. Anthony Rinaldo as the Celebrant. Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Mary’s School in Frankenstein or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.
