Rodney L. Strope

Rodney L. Strope, age 57, of Chamois, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. 

Rodney was born December 19, 1963, in Jefferson City, a son to the late John L. Strope and Helen M. (Troesser) Strope.

Rodney was a 1982 graduate of Linn High School.

On March 16, 1993, he was united in marriage to Colleen Keilholz in Linn. Colleen survives at their home.

Rodney was employed at Osage R-1 School in Chamois for fourteen years until his health forced him to retire in 2017.

Rodney enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, woodworking but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. 

In addition to his spouse of twenty eight years, Rodney is survived by: one son, Zachary Strope and his fiancée Alexys of Chamois; two daughters, Tiffany Perrey and her husband Justin of Linn and Ashley Strope and her fiancé Eddie of Chamois; five grandchildren, Daylynn Perrey, Kenton Perrey, Keegan Fain, Riley Fain, and Andi Honey; four brothers, Keith (Brenda) Strope of Morrison, Greg (Ruth) Strope of Linn, Jeff Strope of Jefferson City, Dana Strope of Linn; three sisters, Yvonne (Dale) Haslag of Linn, Kim (Larry) Kever of Bonnots Mill, and Stephanie (Richard) Eichholz of Westphalia; sister-in-law, Deborah Keilholz of Fulton; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. 

In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elmer and Jane Keilholz.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Morton Chapel in Chamois with funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Stanley Strope officiating.  Interment will follow in the Deer Creek Cemetery near Chamois.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Family of Rodney L. Strope.
