Ronald E Scheel, age 82, of Flower Mound, Texas, and formerly of Linn, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Harbor Hospice House of Houston, Texas.

Ronald was born January 23, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, a son to the late Stanley K. Scheel and Janet B. Scheel.

Ronald was a graduate of Linn (MO) High School and attended college at Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri.

Ronald spent his professional life around the book/publishing business. From 1966 until 1968, he was employed at the University of Missouri Bookstore in Columbia. In 1968, Ronald became a book publisher’s representative in the Midwest, working for Dallas, Texas based Fred Murray & Associates. In 1977, Ronald moved his family to Plano, Texas where he would go on to have a long and successful career as an independent publisher’s representative which also included a long tenure as Regional Sales Manager for Cliff’s Notes over six states that included Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana. He loved traveling his territory and his true strength as a sales representative was his love of meeting people.

Throughout his life, Ronald kept his connection with his hometown of Linn where he was a member of Linn Masonic Lodge and continued his support of St. John’s United Methodist Church, where he recently had the front door replaced and dedicated to his parents who were long time members. Ronald was an ardent outdoorsman who loved quail hunting, deer hunting, fly fishing and simply being out in nature. He was also an avid reader and always had a book sitting on his nightstand. Ronald spent his last years traveling the world and going on adventures with dear friend Anna Martinez.

Ronald is survived by daughter Lezlie Dendy (Scheel) of Flower Mound, TX, son Jeffrey Scheel of Oklahoma City, OK, grandchildren Nathaniel Dendy, Noah Dendy and Willow Scheel, and great grandchildren William Dendy and Emma Dendy.
