Sallie D. Hunt, 65, Centralia, MO passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. 

She was born July 10, 1959, in Jefferson City, MO the daughter of the late Billie and Helen (Voss) Owens. 

She was one of nine children, and from the beginning of her life was marked by strength, love and had a heart full of kindness. On December 23, 1982, she married the love of her life Johnnie Hunt, Jr and together they built a home filled with laughter, hard work and unconditional love.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Johnnie Hunt, Jr; her children Billie Jo Owens, Jonathan Hunt and Crystal Hunt; grandchildren Sierra Whitehead, Madison McCoy, Dakota Koons, Dylann, Kenzie, Kallie and Major Hunt; her great granddaughter Ava Grace McCoy; her siblings Billie Sue, Janie, Patti, Margie, Tonie, John and Amie; sister in laws Connie and Jackie; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, Ruthie Rinehart and Logan Hunt preceded her in death.

Sallie worked for over 25 years at Square D where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She also loved helping her husband with his various jobs. There truly wasn’t anything she couldn’t do. She was happiest camping with family, helping others and simply being surrounded by the people she loved. She had a heart that forgives easily, loved deeply, and never stopped giving. 

Her strength was unmatched, a true go-getter in every sense. Whether it was fixing something, comforting someone, or lifting others up. Sallie did it all with grace. She had a special love for animals, especially her beloved cat, Kit Cat, and her loyal dogs, who were always by her side, and brought comfort and joy. Sallie’s legacy of love lives on in all who knew her. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering kindness will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Interment will be in the Centralia City Cemetery. 

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until service time on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Missouri Humane Society, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, MO 65240.
