Sara D. Kraus, age 62, of Loose Creek, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010, at St Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.

Sara was born June 6, 1948, in Glasgow, Scotland, a daughter to William McLaughlin who survives and the late Isabella (White) McLaughlin.

On April 14, 1984, Sara was united in marriage to Stanley Kraus in Las Vegas. He survives of the home.

In 1992, Sara and Stanley settled in Loose Creek. She was employed by Berlin-Wheeler and Scholastic in Jefferson City and Hometown Building Center in Linn where she worked as a bookkeeper/cashier.

Sara was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek and enjoyed gardening, collecting rocks, going to garage sales, sewing, crocheting and dancing.

In addition to her husband survivors include; one daughter, Melody Blutcher of Lancaster, CA; one step daughter, Tammy and her husband Fred Tortell of Oklahoma City, OK; one step-son, Cpt. Gregory Kraus, MD and his wife Sharon of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren; one brother, Joseph; five sisters, Jean, Miria, Mary, Margaret and Gloria; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Lucille Kraus of Loose Creek; two sister-in-laws; two brother-in-laws; and a special friend, Craig Johnson.

In addition to her mother, Sara was preceded in death by one brother.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Morton Chapel in Linn.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Loose Creek.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
