Sharon C. Laughlin, age 77, of Linn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Capitol Region Medical Center in Jefferson City surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon was born on December 26, 1948, in St. Alburt, a daughter to the late Arch and Edna (Lemmons) Shockley.
She attended Linn High School.
On May 21, 1966, she was united in marriage to Clyde Elmer Laughlin at Mint Hill Church near Chamois. Clyde preceded her in death on January 2, 2022.
Sharon was employed at several factories as a seamstress, later she worked for Scholastic in Jefferson City and as a cook.
She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Linn where she loved to volunteer at different actives especially the annual rummage sale.
Sharon enjoyed quilting, fishing, cooking, especially making sweets and coleslaw, and going to rummage sales. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her three sons, Jerry Laughlin of Jefferson City, Jason (Leah Ann) Laughlin of Bonnots Mill and Jeff (LeAnn) Laughlin of Linn; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Laughlin of Kansas City, Isabell (Sean) Sears of Holts Summit, and Ava Laughlin and her boyfriend, Gabe Miller of Jefferson City, Dallas (Emma) Jump of Springfield, and Wyatt Laughlin of Linn; one great grandson, Jack Sears and one more great granddaughter due in a couple of weeks; one brother, Forrest Shockley of Mexico; three sisters, Diane Mitchem of Chamois, Darlene Sieg of Westphalia and Lucille Sieg of Linn; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband of fifty-five years, Sharon was preceded in death by a son, Jack Laughlin; five brothers, Larry, Delmar, Jerry, Cotton, and Web Shockley; three sisters, Lola Davis, Lorene Wild and Melba Bacclesse.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Morton Chapel in Linn with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Gary Wild and Pastor Kayla Kelly Beard officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery near Linn.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church in Linn.
